美國總統布希分不清楚主格與受格、單數與複數。
布希告訴記者，他和第一夫人籮拉討論英國首相布萊爾和夫人來訪一事。布希說： “Laura and I are looking forward to having a private dinner with he and Mrs. Blair Friday night.”布希顯然分不清楚主詞和受詞。在這句話中把「他」用成主格的 “he”，文法上應該用受格 “him.”

布希似乎也不搞不清楚該用單數或複數。有一次在被問到他對於政壇上活躍的家族成員有何忠告時，他說： “My guidance to them is to behave yourself. And they will.” 句中的yourself 應該用複數 yourselves.

布希在田納西州說： “You teach a child to read and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test .” (讀寫能力測驗)。他又犯了老毛病，把she 說成 her.

美國總統又犯文法錯誤了，他在四月二十四號接受美國廣播公司(ABC)記者吉布森(Gibson)訪問時，
Gibson: With the full force of American military? (使用美軍一切力量防衛台灣?)
President Bush: Whatever it took to help Taiwan defend theirself. (會盡其所能協助台灣。)
應該用 herself, 如果用複數，也因該用 themselves.

美國總統布希有閱讀困難症(reading difficulty)，因為他將 peacemaker(和平使者)說成 pacemaker (心律調整器)；將hostage (人質) 說成 hostile (敵意)；今天各電視台報導他在出席美國國務院一項說明會上將 Republic of China說成 Republic of Taiwan, 白宮官員立即表示是口誤。
